Experts say air travel is safer today than ever before. However, among hundreds of carriers it is advisable to choose the most reliable and safe.

The Center for Aviation Accident Data Analysis (JACDEC) annually publishes a list of 60 companies with minimal unpleasant incidents on their flights. Of the Russian carriers, Transaero and Aeroflot are on the 16th and 39th places, respectively, on the JACDEC list.

10. BRITISH AIRWAYS

9. VIRGIN AUSTRALIA

2. AIR NEW ZEALAND

At the beginning of 2013, the national airline of New Zealand has 99 aircraft in the fleet that operate flights in 48 directions. The only accident with the carrier’s plane occurred in 1979 over the territory of Antarctica.
